The material of the plate is melamine, a plastic with a high-quality appearance which is very close to the porcelain. Melamine products are hardwearing, very difficult to break, dishwasher safe, tasteless and odourless and hygienically flawless.

As any other melamine product, it should not be used in the microwave.
